About Us

About Us

Modern European, Malayan Influence

A marriage of two distinct culinary traditions, combining the techniques and ingredients of European cooking with the herbs and spices of Malayan cuisine. Drawing from a wide range of French, Spanish, Italian and British cooking, we use high-quality ingredients along with precise European cooking techniques to our interpretation of modern European cuisine with a focus on flavour and presentation. Adding a layer of complexity and depth to the dishes, the Malayan elements of spices as well as the usage of coconut milk provide dinners with a delightful surprise as well as nostalgia as they savour our creations.

- Testimonials -

"This sort of no-border cooking is very of the moment, and is precisely the kind of food I want to eat right now."

Tan Hsueh Yun (The Straits Time)

"It’s not often you see the familiar flavours of Malay cuisine elevated to fine-dining standards, but this new restaurant at Amoy Street does just that—and pretty well, too"

Restaurant Espoir

The shophouse in Amoy Street that used to house the Anglo-Chinese School, founded in 1886, is now home to a modern European restaurant, Espoir. Like its sister restaurant, The White Label in North Bridge Road, which serves halal French food, Restaurant Espoir looks chic.
